Share guest Wi-Fi without typing the password

Example: Network: CafeGuest; security: WPA; password: replace-with-your-guest-password

  1. Confirm the guest network works and is separate from your private business network.
  2. Enter the network name, choose WPA, WEP, or Open to match the router, and add the password when required.
  3. Enable Hidden network only if the router actually hides that network.
  4. Download the QR, forget the network on a test phone, and check that scanning joins the intended guest network.

What happens after a scan

The code uses a WIFI payload. A compatible phone can offer to join within range of the network; it does not make the router accessible from elsewhere. Changing the name, password, or security settings requires a new QR and replacement signs.

What the code reveals

Anyone who can photograph the QR can read its password. Treat it as a public guest credential. Do not post your staff or home network password on public signs. The code itself does not isolate devices or configure router security.

Using JPG

JPG is a compressed pixel image for workflows that require JPEG. Compression or repeated saving can soften QR edges. Prefer PNG or SVG when accepted, and test the final JPG after it has passed through the intended publishing software.
